Job Summary:
This position has responsibility for preparing bakery items according to scheduled menus and established recipes. This position also prepares salad bar items and café specials.

Duties:

• Be responsible for meeting meal schedules.
• Be responsible for care of food service equipment.
• Handle and prepare food that is palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Follow directions from Director of Food and Beverage and those prescribed on production recipe sheets.
• Utilize kitchen equipment in a safe manner.
• Utilize and properly rotate any over-produced food items.
• Clean and sanitize work areas.
• Practice safe food handling.
• Record food and refrigeration temperatures.
• Creative abilities when developing signature baked goods for café sales.
• Complete assigned cleaning duties.
• Attend all mandatory meetings.
• Work cooperatively with dining services staff.
• Come to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrate dependability and punctuality.
• Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dining Services Director.
• Responsible for knowing and doing what is right and reporting any legal, ethical or safety concerns to the appropriate party.
• Responsible for remaining up to date of all federal, State and local laws, regulatory agency requirements, which apply to assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws and regulations.

Experience:

Certification in Sanitation is required. Minimum of three (3) years baking/cooking experience in a full-menu production kitchen. Ability to comprehend and use standard recipes. Ability to operate cooking equipment. Ability to read/use simple math. Ability to adapt to a variety of duties and situations.

A thorough background investigation, including personal and professional references, criminal background and motor vehicle review will be conducted prior to offer of employment. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination and drug/alcohol screen following a conditional offer of employment.

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
